ATTENTION CHIHUAHUA LOVERS!!!: If you are in the market for a pint sized best friend Daisy could be your girl. She's a very sweet, likes car rides, will shower you with kisses and loves soaking up the sun. She's said to be around 5-6 years old, is potty trained and crate trained. Daisy's teeth are great and her breath is FRESH and she loves a daily chewy. Daisy has done well with calm canine foster siblings. Daisy would be BEST as an only dog. She is a true Chi and tends to pick her person or people. She is a vocal girl as most Chihuahua are and will alert to a knock at the door, a loud car drives by the house, or chime will in when the other dogs are barking. Due to her barking, she can not live in an apartment building. She loves to snuggle under the blankets and just wants to be around her person. She is comfortable spending time in her crate and is fine in her crate even when her foster mom is home. She walks well on a leash using a harness and loves to explore outside. She has done pretty well off leash while on pack walks out in the country with the other resident dogs, and doesn't run but also she decides when it's time for her to come in. Because of this, the foster has her drag a leash so she can pick up the leash and guide her back to the house. Daisy would make a great companion for a single person or in a 2 person home, a home with very limited guests and/or visitors is best for Daisy. She is living with a couple and does great with both the female and male in the home. Daisy is not a "plug and play dog", she will need a few days/weeks to really settle into her forever home. When given the proper exercise she is now thriving in a multi dog foster home. Daisy can even walk next to ducks, chickens and goats without chasing them!! She now also loves walking in the woods, rolling in the grass and will even get her belly wet in the creek. Daisy doesn't seem to mind the snow, and will romp around for a bit outside even when it's snowing and cold. A more country setting for Daisy would be best fit for her as she does bark and tries to chase cars. A fenced yard is preferred but not 100% necessary, but she needs a home with no small children and no cats. If you have previous Chi experence that is a PLUS as Daisy is a special girl. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application at www.sadiesrescue.org Please keep in mind there are many factors to consider when choosing the right match for a dog, so an application cannot guarantee adoption. Nor do we work on a "first come first served" basis, but rather strive to find the best match for the personality of each dog. As part of our adoption process, references both personal and veterinarian will be checked. Sadie's also requires a home visit before we adopt any of our dogs out; therefore we only adopt to our local WNY region. Please only apply if you are serious about adopting as placing each foster dog in the best home takes time and effort by our volunteers. Video of Daisy:
